چکیده

The objective of this research is to investigate Fenton reaction, permanganate and persulfate oxidation as in-situ remediation technology for the treatment gasoline-diesel contaminated soil. These oxidants were compared in various soils study influence soil texture organic matter. different fractions hydrocarbons, which have been scarcely investigated, also analyzed compounds clustered into aliphatic aromatic hydrocarbons. Maximal removal rates obtained with (74%), followed by (60%) hydrogen peroxide (55%). High levels clay (silty soil) reduced efficiency hydrocarbon 18%. On other hand, 5% matter decreased effectiveness (18%). hydrocarbons while size increased, more oxidized than ones. In general, elimination percentages higher 80% are achieved chains >C6-C8 lower 20% those range >C21-C35.The results observed can be used increase improve design advanced processes treating gasoline diesel

Contaminated Soil Remediation with Hydrogen Peroxide Oxidation

The hydrogen peroxide treatment was able to remediate chlorophenols, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, diesel and transformer oil contaminated soil. Chemical treatment of contaminants adsorbed in peat resulted in lower contaminants’ removal and required higher addition of chemicals than the treatment of contaminants in sand. The hydrogen peroxide treatment was found to be feasible for soil reme...

Ecotoxicity of a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH)-contaminated soil.

Soil samples from a former cokery site polluted with polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) were assessed for their toxicity to terrestrial and aquatic organisms and for their mutagenicity. The total concentration of the 16 PAHs listed as priority pollutants by the US Environmental Protection Agency (US-EPA) was 2634+/-241 mg/kgdw in soil samples. The toxicity of water-extractable pollutants f...

Diversity of Biosurfactant-producing Streptomyces Isolates from Hydrocarbon-contaminated Soil

Actinomycetes are unsurpassed as producers of bioactive metabolites, primarily those with antimicrobial/anticancer properties; however, their capacity for producing other natural products such as biosurfactants, has been less explored. Biosurfactants are heterogeneous surface active compounds and can be potentially deployed for bioremediation of hydrocarbons and as emulsifying agents in agricul...

Rhizoremediation of hydrocarbon contaminated soil using Australian native grasses.

Rhizoremediation involves the breakdown of contaminants in soil resulting from microbial activity that is enhanced in the plant root zone. The objective of this study was to assess Australian native grasses for their ability to stimulate removal of aliphatic hydrocarbons from a mine site soil. Time-course pot experiments were conducted in a greenhouse with three grass species (Cymbopogon ambigu...

Selection of Biosurfactan/Bioemulsifier-Producing Bacteria From Hydrocarbon-Contaminated Soil

Petroleum-derived hydrocarbons are among the most persistent soil contaminants, and some hydrocarbon-degrading microorganisms can produce biosurfactants to increase bioavailability and degradation. The aim of this work was to identify biosurfactant-producing bacterial strains isolated from hydrocarbon-contaminated sites, and to evaluate their biosurfactant properties. The drop-collapse method a...
